Grown Ups

I'm not frightened by the aging of my body. I'm frightened by becoming old. The aging of the body is inevitable. Humility is the key to the preservation of the inner child.

The maintaining and preserving of the inner child is of great importance because in doing so, we remain in the state in which we must be to commune with divine energy and in doing so, ultimately enter the Kingdom of God.

Someone growing old in arrogance and self-confidence will hardly take a moment to even consider that a God of love exists --let alone consider they need such a being. For those who are already accepting his existence and desire to commune with him they must return to their inner child; they must return to humility and dependence.

Just as children do, we all want love and the only love we are made for and live abundantly by is the first love of our Father. We are all children but when we grow old and senseless by many years of developing a rugged individualism who screams that we can champion and conquer all life has to offer, we grow cynical, arrogant, puffed up and amused with our ourselves. We slowly lose all memories of humility and of God. The inner child grows up into an arrogant grump. This evolution of the inner child can by no means enter the Kingdom of God.

Humility is of paramount importance. Without humility, I lose the inner child that I am. I begin to think of myself as someone to be considered great and glorious in all of the wrong ways.

In the end, the only thing asked of me is to be humble --like a little child. If I am not humble, I may be able to enjoy my tricks and displays for a moment...but then I am left very lonely and old. Christ is lowly and humble and in him is rest for my soul because in him is the way to communing with the God of love.

“I’m a grown up now” is a dangerous thing to think and say.

"Unless you turn and become like little children, you will be no means enter the Kingdom of God."
